This
is a rear bumper on an MG ZR. It has sustained a large dent, scraping and some
cracks.

First the bumper was heated up and the dent removed as much as possible. Also the cracks were plastic welded.

Next the area was filled using a plastic specific filler. Only a few mm thickness were needed as the bumper was almost straight. The filler is then sanded smooth, replicating the original shape of the bumper.

Area is then primed and sanded again to prepare for painting.

Paint is mixed and colour checked against the car. The end of the bumper is painted and faded out into the centre section, and then lacquered over, also fading the lacquer in the centre so there is no edge.

The lacquer is baked and the fade area is polished out to complete the job.
This was completed in about
5 hours and charged at
£170.00 all in.
If the bumper was just scratched along the one corner, not dented and split, cost would have been about £100.00.
