Here
is the front wing of a BMW 1 series. The customer was hoping for a paintless
dent repair, but it is too far gone, also it goes over a body line which pretty
much makes it impossible. The front bumper has been caught on the edge too.

The wing was straightened out using paintless dent repair tools and techniques, but like I said, it can not be removed completely.

Next the area was filled. As the wing was almost back to shape in the previous stage, I only need to go 1-2mm thick with the filler. This is the correct way, it is good practice to keep it to a minimum. The body line in the arch was then re sculpted to its original shape.

Area is then primed and sanded again to prepare for painting.

Paint is mixed and colour checked against the car. In this case it was necessary to mix a slightly lighter shade to get an exact match. The whole wing is painted and faded into the front bumper edge, and then lacquered over. Lacquer is baked hard.
Finally the bumper fade
area is polished out and the job is complete.
This was completed in 1 working day and charged at £225.00 all in.
If this was just a straight forward scratch repair without the arch reshaping then cost would have been about £150.00.
